Safety Town Goes Virtual

By Nicole Barragato, Publisher, Macaroni Kid Ann Arbor June 23, 2020

Welcome to Safety Town where children learn to be a Super Safety Citizen! This program is designed for Young 5's, Kindergarten, and First Grade children to teach them how to be safe at home, outside, and in their community.

Camp meets virtually Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30, including a 30 minute brain-break. Zoom meetings will include both live interactions and pre-recorded videos. Highlights include: Buster the Bus and Louie the Lightening Bug. A combination of songs, stories, games, and projects help to reinforce the lessons. There will also be a separately scheduled Zoom meeting for adults-only with Officer Doug to discuss gun safety and what to know about tricky adults.

Each week-long session begins with a kick-off event the Friday before where social distancing will be practiced but your child and family is invited to meet the people involved in the camp! Your child will also receive a helmet, T-shirt, and all camp materials at this event.

The cost is $85 and scholarships are available. The first week starts July 13.
