By Nicole Barragato, Publisher, Macaroni Kid Ann Arbor July 21, 2020

The University of Michigan Exercise and Sport Science Initiative has partnered with the Michigan State Board of Education and Superintendent, the Michigan School Health Coordinators' Association (MiSHCA), and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE Michigan) to circulate InPact@Home. InPact stands for Interrupting Prolonged Sitting with Activity. Together they have created an evidence-informed, home-based physical activity program that gives k-12 students the opportunity to participate in physical activity during COVID-19 and beyond.

Program Highlights

  • Children have access to 20-minute cardio workouts that also include nutrition messaging and social and emotional learning.
  • Parents and teachers have access to InPACT nutrition and physical activity resources.
  • Starting in September, children can log their daily activity in order to be entered to raffles to receive prizes.
