We officially made the choice to homeschool our daughters for this next school year. It wasn't as big of choice as some parents are making, as both of my girls are in preschool, but it still felt pretty overwhelming to definitively commit to that plan. I have a TON of anxiety over this choice. I am so worried that I will not be able to teach my girls. Other lies that I believe are; they would learn more in public school and my girls are missing out on many social opportunities. I am thinking these negative thoughts and I even have a teaching degree, so again parents I cannot imagine how stressful this choice continues to be for you all.
On a deeper level 2020 is teaching us all to hang loosely to our plans. I am the Type A, list maker, kind of gal so this has continues to put me into hyper-vigilance mode, more commonly known as the fight status in the fight or flight scenario. This past week I have been battling a nasty cold (no fever) and losing for sure. I think it is because my body is so worn down from the constant stress that it has nothing left to fight off the germs.
So maybe life is great for you today and you are winning in all areas, if that is the case, awesome! If however, on the other hand, you are feeling like me, know that you are not alone. Someone else is right there with you, feeling constantly stressed, short with her family, and overwhelmed by the constant pivoting.
