Beach Review: Pinckney Recreation Area

By Nicole Barragato, Publisher, Macaroni Kid Ann Arbor August 25, 2020

With the weather being so hot lately, my girls have really enjoyed swimming at local beaches. On our last visit to this beach the girls were even able to collect a pail full of clam shells which made the trip extra special. This beach is nice for younger kids since it includes extensive shallow areas. The beach is usually pretty crowded though so it is not easy to social distance here.

Summer Features Include:

🚲Biking
🛶Boating
🎣Fishing
👟Hiking
🍉Picnicking
🏊🏼‍♂️Swimming
🏕Camping
☀️Playground

The recreation area is known for it's extensive trails and excellent fishing. Visit here for a park map.

My girls very much enjoy going to the Silver Lake beach! The beach is clean and well maintained. There are plenty of shaded areas with lots of picnic tables. The beach is very close to the full bathrooms, which were very clean and well maintained.

A state recreation pass can be purchased for $12 with your license plate registration renewal. If you purchase the pass at the park it is $17 and is valid until your next vehicle registration.

This park also includes separate beaches for those who camp there. The park is also known for its many winter activities.
