π WEEKLY UPDATE βοΈ |
Can we all just agree yet that it is time to call a Mulligan on 2020?! Seriously if I could figure out the science behind recreating the DeLorean from Back to the Future in real life I would make it happen already. I cannot even begin to imagine how torn parents are feeling over all AAPS students starting the school year off virtually. I understand that it is a delicate tug of war of keeping our kids safe and returning to normalcy. But is this the new normal? If yes, how do we all process, grieve, pick ourselves up by the bootstraps, and then thrive?
In other personal family news I have a daughter who has Epilepsy. She has been living with this diagnosis since November of 2018 and is four now. It was super hard when she was first diagnosed, but then we learned how to manage it and we thought we were in the clear. That was until January of this year when we learned that she was having seizure activity 80% of the time when she was sleeping without any outward signs. This meant starting a super powerful medication which was pretty scary. We had great hope that things were improving because of increases in learning. But this week we had another EEG and learned that the nighttime activity is still at 70%.
I say all this because although it might not be Epilepsy I realize that 2020 has been super hard for it seems like everyone in all different ways. I just feel like the whole world is going through trials that subconsciously I know will end but in the here and now it just seems hard. So if you are like me in the stage where life just seems so overwhelming and difficult you are absolutely not alone. I hope that offers you some encouragement.
Hugs,
